Thanks for signing up for your SENIOR portrait session!
If we haven’t already discussed a location, please make sure to take a look at my location guide!
Preparing for your portrait session:
If you would like to schedule a consultation about your senior photo session, please email me or text me 303.378.0121 to schedule a time.
Wardrobe:
Bring a variety of clothes. For regular sessions, I plan to have you in 3 outfits, but bring an extra so we have options.
Choose a variety of looks, from more formal to totally casual. Be yourself but it’s okay to let mom/dad pick one outfit. We are going to take a ton of photos, so if they have a favorite, indulge them.
Avoid shirts with big words or pictures. If you have a graphic-T that is your favorite that is totally YOU, then do it. But otherwise, have the rest of your clothes avoid logos, words, and big graphics.
Layers are good. Think shirt over shirt, jacket over shirt, vest over shirt, chunky sweater over shirt, etc. We can take things off, roll up sleeves, remove jewelry, this gives us a visual palette to play with. Jackets, shirts, and sweaters can also be props, something you swing over your shoulder, or hold in your hand. Bring something, you don’t even have to wear it, just hold it.
Footwear isn’t super important since these photos are mostly about your face. However some photos will be full body so make sure you have shoes you like for photos.
We will be walking around a lot for your photos. Bring or wear shoes that you can walk in.
Add accessories. Don’t forget jewelry, hats, glasses, etc. that will add some pop to your look.
Props:
If you are wanting to do any specific photos for a sport or activity, please let me know in advance.
Makeup:
If you want professional makeup, I can connect you with one of my professional makeup artists.
Eyewear:
If you wear prescription glasses, please do not wear transitions lenses. You should wear glare-resistant eyewear so that we can see your eyes win natural light.
If sunglasses are your thing, happy to take a couple shots with you in your shades.
Day of Session:
Bag your jewelry/accessories for each outfit separately and put it with the correct clothes. This will ensure we have time for at least three outfits
Think about your undergarments. White pants/skirt? Make sure your underwear does’t show through your bottoms. Do you need an undershirt? Are you wearing pants with visible boxers? Do your bra straps show?
Bring a hairbrush and lipstick/lip balm for touchups
Bring a bottle of water. Modeling is thirsty work. Trust me on this.
Get a good night's sleep and show up in your first outfit. Some people say to wear your least favorite outfit first.
Relax, this will be fun!
Trust me to guide you, even if it feels awkward.
